$6.15?!

Classical @ 05:00 pm CST

so, meh.
the interview at gamestop went well, but i just don't think i'll take the job if they decide to hire me.

i can only work part-time at minimum wage to begin with here. uber suck when i was asking for full-time and at LEAST $7 an hour, prefferably $8. i seriously cannot afford to pay for the gas that it will take for me to go back and forth to these jobs because they are so far AND pay for the trips and CONvergence this summer AND afford to work on my portfolio AND y'know...college.
they are trying to entice me with "benefits"... like discounts not only there but at other stores, "checkouts" for a few days so i can sample games (and get to know them), lots of information on stuff before it even comes out, and the occasional visit from people who work in the industry. and they said that those are only the starting levels--the better i work, the more hours i get and the more opportunities i get for a raise.
but i only have three months here. only if i really loved this job would i consider keeping it into the school year in order to gain those added hours and wage.

those things would probably make up for the low wage and crap hours if i was more involved in the video game industry. especially if i wanted to, say, make a career in the game industry, that would be a great start.
but unfortunately, i don't. and if i want to go where i plan on going, i have to actually get a job here that freaking pays me more so i can afford to go to college.

blah. am i just not worth more than minimum wage or something? ;n;
i realized that i probably won't be able to start off with much better anywhere else, either... considering full-time work is hard to get and better pay for retail is hard to come across, too.
but damnit! i have priorities! i need the monies! and i personally think i am worth at least a little more than the bottom line...

people tell me i have smarts and talent, though apparently they're only worth $6.15 an hour. >_>
